A story to share on my arrival in the French congregation of Manchester

Created by Marilyn 5 months ago

My name is Marilyn Weakley, I have met Duncan and Susan when I arrived from Paris in 2003 , over 20 years ago. I remember my first visit to the French congregation, I felt lost at first but all the sudden this lovely man walked towards me and smiled at me and said in french , bonjour je suis Duncan comment tu t’appelles? It was just so funny because he had such a strong English accent and you could tell he was trying hard to speak the linguo!!! But this encounter made me laugh because it’s not often you meet someone who approaches you and speaks your language first just to make you feel welcome… this kind gesture stayed with me ever since, he introduced me to Susan and the rest of the clan, the Bosnans, the Hulls, the Weakleys ( oh i was a Kimbondo back then!!), the Chipambas, the Bigoudes, i met also a group of single ones at the times Coco Njoko, Romain Miezi and Giselle Lusamba who have all marry and are now fathers and mother of many… anyway just to say thanks to Duncan caring and loving demeanour I made friends with all these love people and we’re friends til this day. Therefore I will never forget the love and respect he showed me as an individual, i was only 23 years old at the time yet my age or gender didn’t matter he treated me as an equal. Really in my culture he’s an important man , a very important man considering his position in society, he owned a business, employed people, one of my friend Nancy who arrived from Paris worked for him for a short while, I mean he was a respected entrepreneur who commanded respect of his fellow counterparts yet he wasn’t like that in the contrary he was one of the most humble man I ever met… him and Susan taught me great lessons of life , I never told any of them but I secretly observed them and the love and happiness they share as a couple was something i wanted to emulate. Niw i am myself married I hope i did them justice!!! We will see Duncan again in the Parafise Earth promise by our loving God Jehovah, and I am so convinced that when Duncan gets resurrected he will probably look at his suit and call on Susan to come and change it!!!!🤣aww we have loved them sooo much, thank you Susan for being there and have stood by your lovely nan and made our beautiful French Congregation a strong assembly where brothers and sisters, families, you g and old ones can peacefully worship our true God Jehovah.
